How to achieve a ‘Five Star’ Sustainability Rating

How to achieve a ‘Five Star’ Sustainability Rating

EAD Ecology has advised on the ecological aspects of numerous Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) accreditations for our residential-developer clients. In 2015, following the Housing Standards Review, the government withdrew the Code in England. The Buildings Research Establishment (BRE) has now unveiled the ‘Home Quality Mark’. This is a new voluntary accreditation scheme that is ‘customer focused’ and seeks to promote best practice in home building through consideration of social, ‘well-being’ and environmental criteria. As with CSH, the accreditation includes a significant ecology element. As ‘Suitably Qualified Ecologists’ under BRE rules, EAD Ecology can advise on the ecological aspects of the new scheme and help you achieve ‘Five Stars’ on sustainability.
