About Us

EAD Ecology is at the forefront of ecological consulting. With an excellent reputation, both within the South West and nationally, we deliver leading ecological solutions to support a range of design, planning and management projects. Working within both private and public-sectors, we undertake ecological surveys, impact assessments, including Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, and deliver professional, respected advice and expertise.

Founded in 2003 by Chartered Environmentalists, Matt Jones and Matt Cowley. We are proud to be a supportive, dynamic and close-knit team of like-minded professionals who share the same authentic values and passion for the environment. We are 100% employee owned through our Employee Ownership Trust. We are all members of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and work in accordance with its Code of Practice.

David Scholefield

Director

I moved to EAD Ecology from a consultancy in Exeter as a Senior Ecologist, and have since been promoted to a Director. Career development like this has been the case with a lot of our colleagues, many of whom have had the opportunity to progress from junior roles to Senior Ecologists and beyond. The team here is fantastic, and everyone’s expertise is shared across the team. The flexible working hours mean that we have the autonomy to deliver high quality work without this impacting their personal lives and commitments. We regularly meet up outside of work for sociable activities; it’s a great environment to be a part of!
