Principal Ecologist

Rachel has 12 years of experience working and volunteering in the environmental sector and has been working at EAD Ecology since 2017. She has worked on a range of projects, including small and large-scale residential developments, pipelines and building renovations.

Key skills include:

• Experience in writing PEAs, EcIAs, LEMPs, CEcoMPs and Shadow HRAs
• Preparation of European Protected Species Development Licences (hazel dormouse)
• Holds current Natural England Great Crested Newt, Hazel Dormouse and Class 2 Bat Survey Licences
• Extended Phase 1 Habitat and botanical surveys
• Protected species surveys
• Ornithological surveys, including cirl bunting, breeding bird and wintering bird surveys
• Ecological Clerk of Works
• Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments, including Habitat Condition Assessments and a qualified River Condition Assessment surveyor
• ArcGIS and QGIS mapping
• Holds Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) – Level 4
